According to brand owner Omar de Frias, he opted to create a tribute line because the first retailer to carry his cigars was located in Maryland and his headquarters are in Virginia.
Similar to last year’s release, each region—Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Delaware—will get their own unique size of Fratello DMV. De Frias, though, is going one step further this year by giving each area its own blend, too.
While the binder and filler tobaccos for each Fratello DMV are the same, with an Ecuadoran binder and a filler mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, each DMV will be wrapped in a different cover leaf.
